The Department of Airline and Transport Service Management was established in 1997. Due to its continual academic success in terms of professional airline curriculum and teaching resources, the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism is the only university which has been authorized to establish the first Authorized Training Centre in Asia for an industry-academia joint program by International Air Transport Association (IATA) and United Federation of Travel Agents' Associations (UFTAA) in 2008.
The objective of the Department of Airline and Transport Service Management is to cultivate airline and transport industry professionals. The course design incorporates theoretical instruction along with industry practical training. It focuses on the abilities of data processing, initiating students into the techniques of airport terminal ground service, sky catering service, ticketing and reservation, aviation transport, aviation cargo collecting, aviation safety management, the professional skill of planning , marketing and First Aid, including C.P.R. We also believe that foreign communication is our priority, therefore we pride our interpersonal communication skills that includes English and Japanese both written and oral communication, that includes familiarity with various global rules and regulations that exists in airline industry.
In regards to our teaching resources, our teaching staffs are both academically and professionally qualified that would ensure that our teaching methods are of the upmost quality. Moreover, in order to achieve the practical training objective, the department is fully equipped with practical training facilities such as airport check-in counters, Boeing B747-400 aircraft mock-up、MD-11 aircraft mock-up and Boeing B737-NG Aircraft Flight Simulator.
